Methodology
Request volume is multiplied by average token sizes and billing days. Input and output totals are priced separately and summed.
Token and API Costs
Project monthly AI API tokens and cost from request volume, average payload size, and model rates.

| Result | Value | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Requests / month | 300K | Daily requests multiplied by billing days. |
| Input tokens / month | 360M | Monthly billed input volume. |
| Output tokens / month | 90M | Monthly billed output volume. |
| Estimated monthly spend | $8,100.00 | List-price token estimate for the selected model. |
| Average cost / request | $0.03 | Blended input and output token cost. |
Retries, failed calls, moderation, storage, and non-token units are excluded unless they are included in the request assumptions.

Inputs
| Input | How it is used |
|---|---|
| Requests per day | Successful model calls expected each day. |
| Tokens per request | Average billed input and output tokens. |
| Billing days | Active days included in the forecast month. |
| Model | Supplies sourced input and output prices. |
Request volume is multiplied by average token sizes and billing days. Input and output totals are priced separately and summed.
Run low, base, and high scenarios. Token averages often hide long-tail requests that dominate both spend and rate-limit consumption.
Boundaries
Catalog values retain their source and freshness on the linked model, provider, benchmark, or comparison page. Editable scenario assumptions are not Model Markets measurements.

Questions
Translate request-level product assumptions into monthly token demand and spend. It returns requests, input tokens, output tokens, and list-price cost per day and month.
Where the calculation needs model facts, it uses the current Model Markets catalog snapshot updated 2026-09-02. User-entered assumptions remain clearly editable, and unsupported values stay unknown rather than being inferred.
Failed calls, retries, and moderation calls are excluded unless included in request volume. Tiered and negotiated pricing is not modeled. Rate limits require the separate peak-capacity calculator.
